English as an Additional Language (EAL)
At Wheatfield Primary we are proud to be a multi-cultural school. We have a thriving and diverse community which welcomes children and their families from all over the world, including Poland, Romania, Pakistan, China, India and Egypt.
Around a third of our children have English as an Additional Language (EAL) and therefore we work hard to ensure that they are well supported to access the curriculum, enjoy school life and reach their full potential. Most importantly, they are encouraged to understand that bilingualism is an asset!
Celebrating diversity is at the heart of what we do at Wheatfield Primary and can be appreciated all around the school. It is incorporated into our values and the curriculum to enrich learning and embrace differences.
