British Values
British Values are defined as: Democracy, Rule of Law, Individual Liberty, Mutual Respect and Tolerance of Different Faiths & Beliefs. These complement our School Values of: Respect, Responsibility, Resilience and Kindness and underpin our curriculum.
Children explore British Values across the curriculum but particular emphasis is given in PSHE sessions where each value is mapped carefully through the curriculum content. Our assemblies (with their termly and weekly themes) also enable children to reflect on both our School Values and British Values. Subjects such as RE allow children to explore the value of Respect and Tolerance. History enables the exploration of Democracy and Liberty. Children are also actively engaged in living these Values through participation in elections for our School and Eco Councils.
More information about how our curriculum supports the teaching and appreciation of British Values can be found below.
