At Wheatfield we have a group of ten children, one from each class in Year 2-Year 6, who are committed to ensuring that the Jigsaw PSHE curriculum is embedded in all areas of school life. They are our Jigsaw Juniors!
They meet with the PSHE lead and are tasked with a variety of duties including pupil and staff conferencing, taking photos of mindfulness displays, and exploring the Jigsaw curriculum in more detail. They also sometimes trial new pilot materials from Jigsaw and have recently tested out a new range of playground games and activities. They have also participated in reviewing a new range of Jigsaw stories aimed at the younger children and loved reading them to Reception and Year 1 and seeing their reactions.
This is a great way for our children to develop their confidence and team work and helps them shape and take responsibility for PSHE learning going forward.
